Loss of hair or thinning of hair can have a great negative impact on people. For women, it is especially traumatic. We shed hair on a daily basis and normally, the lost hair is replaced by new hair. Alopecia Areata: This is an immune problem that is characterized by smooth round patches on the scalp. This problem also affects eyebrows and eyelids.

Other causes: Premature hair loss or thinning can also be caused by stress, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, trauma, scalp infections, bacterial or fungal infections and also high levels of testosterone in women.

Home Remedies for Hair Loss in Women
Homemade remedies to deal with hair loss in women are very popular. These remedies have been proved to be effective;

1. Safflower Oil: Massage the scalp with safflower oil daily for about 20 minutes as this helps to increase the flow of blood to the hair follicles stimulating hair growth. The safflower oil is a vasodilator.

2. Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is also effective when directly applied to the scalp.

3. Saw Palmetto: The herb saw palmetto is effective in treating hair loss problems as it prevents the formation of dihydrotestosterone. This hormone is said to destroy the hair follicles, and it causes androgenic alopecia. Take about 160mg of the herb two times a day.

4. Aloe Vera: Aloe products are also effective as it is thought to treat the condition. Apply the aloe vera gel directly on the scalp. Taking 2 table spoons of aloe juice on a daily basis helps to treat the condition.

5. Arnica: Arnica improves blood circulation to the hair follicles stimulating hair growth. This herb is applied to the scalp in the form of creams and ointments. This should be done two times a day. Arnica hair rinse can also be used.

6. Sage: Another effective herb is sage. Add it to your shampoo or take tea rich in sage on a daily basis as it will stimulate the growth of hair.

7. Licorice: The use of licorice is also effective in dealing with hair loss problems. It also prevents the formation of the hormone dihydrotestosterone that inhibits hair growth. Add the licorice in your shampoo.

8. Rosemary: Prepare a mixture of rosemary, 1 part, and almond oil, 2 parts, and apply the mixture to your scalp. Massage your scalp for about 20 minutes. Rosemary is known to keep the hair healthy.

9. Improve Digestion: Poor absorption of nutrients is known to cause thinning of the hair. This is caused when there is an overgrowth of bacteria in the stomach or due to inadequate digestive juices. Taking a Hydrochloric tablet with a capsule containing digestive enzymes in the course of a meal aids in dealing with this problem. Furthermore, take ½ tsp of acidophilus powder dissolved in water two times a day helps the body to absorb nutrients.

10. Supplements: Taking supplements rich in multi-vitamins and about 50 mg of iron followed by 1,000 mg of vitamin C is effective to deal with hair loss in women, especially if the condition is caused by stress, trauma and heavy menstrual cycles.

Hair loss in women is a rising problem. Make sure that you take good care of your hair and scalp and use these remedies as soon as the hair fall starts.
